Econothon 2018

Lahore School of Economics' flagship national event Econothon'18, organized by Lahore School Economics Society (LSES), was held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Lahore School of Economics Burki campus.

25 undergraduate teams from different universities participated in this exciting competition. Econothon 2018 was a roaring success. It could be said that the activities or social event made it exciting, or maybe the rounds were planned admirably. But the true reason for success is the quality of teams that participated from all over Pakistan. It was a tough competition from the get-go.

All the teams had their eye on the first prize, and would settle for no less. But the prize of Rs. 30,000 and the mantle of Winners of Econothon 2018 was earned by Team Kenneth Arrow of FAST-NU, which consisted of Mueez Shahid, Quratulain Sheikh and Roshaan Khan. The First Runner-Up prize was brought home by Team David Ricardo of LSE who got a cash prize of Rs. 15,000. The students from LSE were Ammar Ubaid, Suliaman Khan Babar and Arsal Ur Rehman. The Second Runners-Up were Team James Tobin from Institute of Administrative Sciences, PU who made it to the final with a valiant effort and won Rs. 12,000. The team mates were Usama Siddiqui, Naqsh Nasir and Maryam Nazafat.

All the teams that participated had nothing but praise for the competition and everything it held for the participants, saying that they looked forward to the next edition of Econothon. The event was followed by dinner and Qawali on campus.
